Bill Gaines Audio began it’s humble beginnings in 1996 when owner Bill Gaines decided to take his hobby and love of live music a little more seriously and, began offering his audio engineering services for local artists on California’s Central Coast.

One of these acts was using a Leslie rotating speaker cabinet and, Bill being the wise sound man that he is knew that he would need some gear of his own to capture the sound of such a legendary instrument. This is when the first Shure SM57 was purchased creating the concrete foundation that is Bill Gaines Audio’s expansive inventory of live production equipment.

The repeated success of any production Bill was attached to caught the attention of event coordinators and, promoters alike. This caused his name to be synonymous with great sound on California’s Central Coast. His extraordinary reputation spread and, landed contacts with numerous organizations in charge of many events in the area including but not limited to San Luis Obispo’s Downtown Association (Concerts in the Plaza), Pozo Saloon, and Otter Productions. This lead to even more successful events and, an ever growing inventory of industry leading equipment.
